The ideas behind Purpose on Tap started in the Spring of 2016 with the gentlemen below. We wanted to create something unique & spent 6 months assembling the foundation of a truly unique Ministry. We meet at a brewery once a month to discuss life's challenges & educate how through Christ, one can find their purpose in life.
Tucker is originally from North Carolina and has lived in Atlanta since 1995, when he moved to run a student ministry at a large church in Buckhead. He lives in Brookhaven with his wife, M.C. and three daughters, Margaret Ann, 18, Liza, 15 and Caroline, 10. Tucker left student ministry in 2002 and started a residential landscape business in Buckhead, which he has recently sold. He is now working for Leadership Development Company, where he serves as Executive Director. Tucker started a men’s small group study nearly five years ago that has been instrumental in birthing Purpose On Tap. When not working, he enjoys golf and college football.
Matthew grew up in Atlanta and now lives in Brookhaven with his wife Kathryn and their dog Cooper. After graduating from Westminster, he went on to play football at Furman University. Matthew moved back to Atlanta after graduating college in 2009. Since then he has been involved in both the student ministry at Peachtree Presbyterian as well as a men’s group, Ironmen. In 2010 with the help of Calder, David, and Bryan Dunagan, they launched a small group, Heathens, that continues to meet today. In his free time, he enjoys traveling to new places with his wife, adventuring to North Carolina mountains, staying active, working out, and always finds time to cook a delicious meal.
Clayton is from Atlanta and lives in Collier Hills with his wife, Emily, and crazy puppy Nellie. He graduated from Westminster in 2003 (Go Cats) and went on to play baseball at Washington & Lee University. After a few years of working in Atlanta real estate, Clayton went to Terry Business School in Athens for his MBA in real estate finance. He returned to Atlanta in 2012 reconnecting with Tucker. Together they successfully launched a Men’s Bible Study in 2013. The group gathers weekly & has helped over 20 young men recognize their God-given potential. The Edwards attend Buckhead Church where Clayton advises for the MoneyWise ministry. When off duty, Clayton & Emily like to adventure travel together where they love renting bikes & sampling the local fare. He enjoys a good bro-hang by the firepit, playing golf after work, or hanging out in the mountains on the weekend.
David grew up in Atlanta and currently lives in Ridgewood Heights with his wife, Colleen. He went to Lovett for 14 long years and then graduated from Ole Miss with a finance degree. For two years after college, David traveled throughout South America and lived in Colorado working at a Young Life camp, called Frontier Ranch. He returned to Atlanta in 2008 and starting working in real estate banking. David has continued to invest his time with Young Life for eight more years. In 2010, David helped launch a small group called “Heathens,” which started meeting at a bar in Buckhead with intentions of scratching the surface. Seven years later, the same group still meets every other Tuesday night. David sits on the board for the Capital Group and has been pivotal to their success. He enjoys adventure traveling with Colleen, Atlanta sports and anything involving the great outdoors.
Calder grew up in Atlanta and lives in Brookhaven with his wife Whitney and two dogs Bridger and Ellie. He graduated from Wesleyan High School and went on to Ole Miss for undergrad and later earned his MBA from Mercer University. After college Calder moved to Montana where he sold Caterpillar equipment and went skiing, fishing, and hunting as much as possible. Since he moved back to Atlanta in 2010, he has been a youth group leader from 2011-2016 and journeyed on his first (of many) Mission Trips, reigniting his desire to serve. Calder and Matthew have been table leaders together at Ironmen, since 2014. Along with David and Matthew, he helped start a small group in 2010 that still meets regularly today. Calder sits on the Alumni Board of Wesleyan School. His favorite hobbies include brewing beer, gardening, and carpentry. Calder's true passion in life is fly fishing when and where-ever he can.
